The First Church of Religious Science in Vista has been hosting weddings for more than 50 years. Every couple is unique and every wedding a special event. We do all in our power to accommodate your personal wishes and to make your wedding, renewal or commitment ceremony an occasion of delight for you and your guests.

The Sanctuary is a lovely high-ceilinged and wood-paneled structure and has a center aisle for a dramatic processional. Sunlight filters through stained glass windows and a skylight. The church seats 200 in comfortable cushioned chairs.

We also have a patio for small, intimate weddings in the warmer months. Our church is centrally located and easy to find on Melrose Drive, a main street in the City of Vista just one half mile South of Highway 78. We offer a large and ample parking lot to accommodate all of your guests.

One of our wedding coordinators will work with you to provide assistance in scheduling your wedding. At your request, they can provide information about soloists, local photographers, florists, bakeries, printers, etc. recommended by other brides. Your wedding coordinator will conduct a rehearsal one or two days prior to your ceremony for you, your attendants and family. On your wedding day, we will coordinate with your photographer(s) and or videographer(s) to facilitate a seamless interaction to ensure that they capture your special memories before, during and after your ceremony.

Rev. Sheila will be delighted to meet with you to discuss your upcoming wedding and any special concerns or requests you have.

Rev. Sheila enjoys working with couples to customize the ceremony to reflect their unique personalities. If there are already children, she will, if you so desire, include them in the ceremony and make them feel a part of this important and life changing event in their lives. We don't stop with ceremony. Rev. Sheila will be available for pictures after the ceremony, if requested. In addition, she provides extra copies of your wedding license that day, as well as a Certificate of Marriage to commemorate your wedding vows.

Our Wedding Package is $450 and includes:
• Minister to solemnize marriage
• Use of the Sanctuary and Bride's Dressing Room on day of wedding beginning one hour prior to ceremony and continuing for one hour after the scheduled time of the ceremony
• One Hour Rehearsal one or two days prior to ceremony
• Wedding Coordinator for Rehearsal and Ceremony
• Organist OR Sound Technician for amplification and/or recorded music.

RECEPTION FACILITIES

We have facilities, priced accordingly, for the small cake and champagne toast reception all the way up to our larger hall with a dance floor and table and chairs to accommodate the more traditional and larger reception.

Hospitality Room & Patio Area (Accommodates 25 to 50 people)
This area accommodates approximately 25 to 50 people and is available for up to two hours for $225. There is limited seating available on the patio and is more suitable for the more informal and smaller gathering that does not include meals.

Friendship Hall (Accommodates approximately 125 people)
This is our larger room, and includes the use of the kitchen for food set up, as well as the Hospitality Room. Friendship Hall has has tables and chairs for you and your guests for meals, as well as a dance area. The fee for Friendship Hall is $350 for up to four hours.
